About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provides computed tomography imaging and patient care services to patients
- Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately
- Applies the ALARA principle to minimize radiation exposure to patients, self, and others
- Implements radiation protection and safety standards
- Prepares for and assists the physician in computed tomography procedures
- Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations
- Supports Owensboro Health’s mission, vision, core commitments, and business interests
- Adheres to organizational policies and procedures
- Performs work consistently with a culture of compliance, safety, and high reliability
Requirements
What you’ll need- No experience required
- Diploma, Associate's degree or higher in Science or related field required upon hire
- RT(R) - Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Radiology required upon hire
- RT(CT) - Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Computed Tomography required upon hire
- ROC - Radiation Operator Certification in the state of Kentucky required upon hire
- BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment
- Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment
- Works under direct supervision
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
- Applies more advanced skills and knowledge in the area of specialization
- Must be able to meet the stated clinical physical demands
