About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work onsite in a dedicated Virtual Care Bunker
  • Provide continuous remote observation and safety monitoring for hospitalized patients using audio/video technology
  • Simultaneously monitor assigned patients and prioritize attention based on acuity and risk level
  • Identify falls, unsafe mobility attempts, line/tube dislodgment, self-harm or high-risk behaviors, confusion, agitation, and elopement risks
  • Promptly notify bedside nursing staff or designated care team members about observed safety concerns
  • Work with nursing staff to maintain a safe environment according to organizational standards and policies
  • Participate in handoff communication at the beginning and end of shifts
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies
  • Report equipment issues or malfunctions to technical support teams
  • Support Owensboro Health’s mission, vision, core commitments, and business interests while adhering to organizational policies and safety standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher preferred
  • BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position
  • No experience required
  • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment
  • Works under minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
  • Must be able to work weekend requirements: Two
  • Work hours: 6:00A - 6:30P
  • Frequently standing, sitting, bending/stooping, reaching, talking, hearing, keyboard data entry, and repetitive hand/arm movements
  • Must meet stated physical demands, including occasional lifting, carrying, kneeling, crouching/crawling, running, and depth perception, color distinction, near and far vision
