About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Improve, maintain, and repair OXTS production tools and processes, including calibration.
  • Work cross-functionally with NPI, Engineering, Production, Quality and Purchasing teams to support new product introduction.
  • Investigate and resolve real-time production build and test issues.
  • Implement and document process improvements, communicate changes and provide training.
  • Monitor and maintain production equipment, calibration tables and thermal chambers.
  • Carry out and support preventative maintenance activities.
  • Develop, improve, design, purchase and maintain jigs, tooling and production equipment.
  • Use scripting/programming, including Python, to develop software tools, automate routine tasks and streamline calibration.
  • Assist with calibration procedures, quality-control data, external calibration and audit/customer technical support.
  • Carry out risk assessments and maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment.
  • Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to Production staff.
  • Support safe, efficient and high-quality production output and maintain production documentation.
  • Support development, validation and implementation of processes and equipment for new products, including build trials, pilot activity and post-launch improvements.
  • Support introduction of new equipment, complex technical issues, project activity and regional OXTS Operations teams.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong hands-on engineering background, ideally within mechatronics, manufacturing, production or test engineering.
  • Experience with scripting or programming, particularly Python.
  • Experience troubleshooting production and test issues using structured root cause analysis methods such as 5 Whys, fishbone analysis and fault trees.
  • Basic electronics and PCB fault-finding knowledge.
  • Practical low-voltage electrical skills relevant to production and test equipment.
  • Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Experience with process validation, continuous improvement and production process development.
  • Able to create and maintain technical documentation such as SOPs, work instructions and process records.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP or manufacturing systems; exposure to SQL, smart factory systems or 3D printing would be advantageous.
