About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Consolidate cost estimation processes for stores
- Manage the Engineering department’s CAPEX and OPEX
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and optimization
- Analyze the department’s financial projections
- Report data to the Group
- Collect data and information on materials, labor, equipment, and overhead expenses to estimate construction project costs
- Use cost-estimating software or Excel spreadsheets to calculate approximate costs
- Create and maintain detailed cost spreadsheets
- Analyze data to identify trends, variances, and optimization opportunities
- Compare estimates with actual costs
- Monitor and document scope changes that affect costs
- Maintain and update a centralized cost database
- Collaborate with the Engineering team, engineers, architects, and internal clients
- Prepare reports for senior management and the project management team
- Suggest improvements to cost-estimation processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in civil engineering
- Experience with civil cost analysis
- Knowledge of LPUs (Unit Price Lists)
- Experience with cost spreadsheets and budgets
- Completed bachelor’s degree
- Excel proficiency
- Power BI knowledge is a plus
