About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own and evolve the BYOC deployment model for Archie across customer environments
  • Design how systems are distributed, installed, updated, and connected to P-1’s central systems
  • Build and own Kubernetes-based infrastructure across multiple clouds and customer setups
  • Create repeatable deployment tooling using Helm, GitOps, or similar approaches
  • Implement secure and reliable updates and upgrades for restricted or locked-down network environments
  • Collaborate with product, research, and forward-deployed engineering teams to translate requirements into platform capabilities
  • Debug and improve production deployments
  • Identify bottlenecks in performance, reliability, and operability
  • Establish observability, monitoring, and debugging patterns for distributed systems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Knowledge of infrastructure, Kubernetes, multi-cloud, distributed systems, networking, cybersecurity, and BYOC
  • Experience building and operating Kubernetes-based systems in production
  • Experience designing infrastructure using IaC tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or similar
  • Experience implementing CI/CD or GitOps workflows across environments
  • Comfort working across AWS, GCP, and Azure and understanding their core primitives
  • Experience with strong security and networking considerations, including VPCs, identity, and encryption
  • Ability to own problems end-to-end in ambiguous 0-1 environments
  • Principled and aggressive approach to AI-assisted development
  • Continuous evolution of AI approaches for technical work
  • Ability to work remotely in the US or Canada, or in San Mateo, California
  • Ability to work one week out of six on-site in the San Mateo office for remote employment
  • Sponsorship requirements must be disclosed for work in the US/Canada
