About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, maintain, and execute functional and regression test scripts and test cases
  • Test and prove software meets specifications
  • Prove scalability and performance of company software
  • Work with software and firmware engineers to ensure software quality
  • Develop and automate tests for software validation
  • Apply effective test design and detailed test case definition principles
  • Write clear, concise, and sufficiently detailed bug reports
  • Apply different testing approaches and determine their benefits to the overall testing strategy
  • Write and execute test plans, detailed test cases, and test scenarios
  • Create test status reports following executed test cases
  • Work with external contractors as needed to develop and carry out test cases
  • Log and track defects, bugs, and change requests
  • Test complex, multi-tiered software applications and create test plans and designs
  • Independently drive software testing strategy and execution for new product development initiatives, including functional, integration, and validation testing
  • Manage the complete test lifecycle, including planning, test case design, execution, and results tracking
  • Collaborate with product management, software engineering, and operations teams to interpret requirements and influence design decisions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field
  • Seven (7) years of experience as a Software Test Engineer, Software Engineer in Test, or related occupation
  • Seven (7) years of experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Azure DevOps Test Management, or Atlassian JIRA
  • Seven (7) years of experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Seven (7) years of experience designing and executing test plans, strategies, and scenarios for complex, multi-tiered software applications
  • Seven (7) years of experience with detailed test case development and status reporting
  • Seven (7) years of experience opening, reproducing, validating, logging, and tracking defects, bugs, and change requests
  • Seven (7) years of experience in laboratory environments
  • Seven (7) years of experience working in both new product development and legacy product support environments
  • Seven (7) years of experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies
