About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, maintain, and execute functional and regression test scripts and test cases
Test and prove software meets specifications
Prove scalability and performance of company software
Work with software and firmware engineers to ensure software quality
Develop and automate tests for software validation
Apply effective test design principles and detailed test case definition
Write clear, concise, and sufficiently detailed bug reports
Determine when different testing approaches benefit the overall testing strategy
Write and execute test plans, detailed test cases, and test scenarios
Create test status reports based on executed test cases
Work with external contractors, when needed, to develop and carry out test cases
Log and track defects, bugs, and change requests
Test complex, multi-tiered software applications and apply effective testing strategies
Drive software testing strategy and execution for new product development initiatives, including functional, integration, and validation testing
Manage the complete test lifecycle, including test planning, test case design, execution, and results tracking
Collaborate with product management, software engineering, and operations teams to interpret requirements and influence design decisions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field of study
Seven (7) years of experience as a Software Test Engineer, Software Engineer in Test, or related occupation
Seven (7) years of experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Azure DevOps Test Management, or Atlassian JIRA
Seven (7) years of experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies
Seven (7) years of experience designing and executing test plans, strategies, and scenarios for complex, multi-tiered software applications
Seven (7) years of experience with detailed test case development and status reporting
Seven (7) years of experience opening, reproducing, validating, logging, and tracking defects, bugs, and change requests
Seven (7) years of experience in laboratory environments
Seven (7) years of experience working in both new product development and legacy product support environments
Seven (7) years of experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies
