About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide administrative support primarily to the Supervisor, Construction
  • Provide vacation relief for General Construction or Maintenance Crews
  • Process payroll, review time cards, calculate bus fare or mileage for transfers, distribute checks, and complete change tags
  • Complete expense reports and coordinate lodging
  • Order materials and office supplies, create purchase orders, obtain vendor pricing, and deliver materials to field job sites
  • Review purchasing invoices, enter invoices for payment, and submit documentation to Accounts Payable
  • Sort and deliver interoffice mail
  • Perform order closure tasks
  • Generate and supply construction crews with job packages
  • Enter, track, and record third-party or employee claims
  • Record safety and training information and perform departmental data entry
  • File paperwork, including employee bid sheets and files
  • Answer phones, take messages, schedule meetings, and prepare meeting agendas
  • Provide miscellaneous administrative support, technical assistance, materials tracking, training, and Workers Compensation appointment coordination
  • Support the SM&C Superintendent during substation emergency incidents as an S/T OEC Emergency member
  • Provide support during emergency events while wearing FR clothing and boots
  • During fire emergencies, sleep in sleepers and remain at Base Camp

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid California Driver’s License by day 1 of employment
  • Ability to drive safely in all weather and road conditions
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to travel and transfer to a new headquarters upon request throughout the entire PG&E service territory
  • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 25–50 pounds
  • Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, holidays, and various work schedules
  • Ability to wear company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification
  • Data Entry experience
  • SAP experience
  • Ariba experience
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Demonstrated experience with Payroll time entry
  • Demonstrated experience with Concur expense reporting
  • Pre-employment Clerical Test Battery
  • Work Orientation Inventory-Clerical
  • Purpose, Virtues and Stands assessment
  • Graduate from the PowerPathway® Program
  • Relevant Hiring Hall experience
  • Relevant PG&E experience
  • Previous Military experience
