About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage Pacific Life’s political contributions program
  • Perform marketing, communications, event planning, compliance, membership development, and political programming for the Pacific Life PAC
  • Grow PAC membership and contributions and develop an active PAC community
  • Perform political compliance and contribution reporting
  • Develop federal candidate contribution strategies with the Government & Policy Affairs team
  • Manage state political contribution strategy and compliance in key states
  • Ensure compliance with campaign contribution laws and regulations
  • Maintain procedures for reporting and disclosure requirements
  • Report PAC operations and performance to the PAC Board and senior leadership using data-driven analysis and benchmarking
  • Serve as corporate secretary for the PAC Board
  • Prepare PAC Board briefing materials, analysis, and financial reports
  • Support advocacy and represent Pacific Life before lawmakers, regulators, and state and federal trade associations
  • Educate public officials and their staffs on public policy affecting Pacific Life and its customers
  • Advocate on tax, retirement security, financial services, and workforce benefits issues
  • Travel approximately 15% to Newport Beach, Omaha, and Charlotte offices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience
  • Experience managing a PAC for a large company or trade association
  • Experience overseeing PAC compliance, fundraising, event planning, and communications
  • Familiarity with Federal Election Commission (FEC) regulations and procedures pertaining to PACs
  • Strong writing, public speaking, and communications skills
  • Strong marketing, event planning, and membership development skills
  • Ability to introduce new ideas and solve problems
  • Ability to develop and execute plans, managing strategy and tactics through project completion
  • Strong teamwork, relationship, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with teams and coalitions
