About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a strategic marketing partner to Institutional Retirement Solutions Group leadership
- Own, activate, and evolve the established IRSG marketing strategy
- Identify priority markets, audiences, opportunities, and areas where marketing can have the greatest impact
- Translate business strategies into audience strategies, positioning, messaging, content, and go-to-market recommendations
- Evolve the institutional content roadmap in partnership with the broader marketing team
- Develop marketing approaches for Pension Risk Transfer, Defined Contribution Lifetime Income, Stable Value, and emerging institutional businesses
- Monitor market, business, competitive, industry, regulatory, and customer developments
- Partner with strategy, analytics, research, product, distribution, and other teams to leverage insights
- Translate complex market and competitive information into actionable recommendations
- Steward IRSG positioning, value proposition, messaging, and overarching narrative
- Guide institutional thought leadership priorities, themes, audiences, channels, and timing
- Advise on executive visibility, industry engagement, conferences, and speaking opportunities
- Provide strategic marketing leadership for new products, market expansion, strategic initiatives, and growth opportunities
- Assess market readiness, audience needs, competitive dynamics, and differentiation opportunities
- Define target audiences, market priorities, value propositions, and channel strategies
- Establish frameworks and KPIs for evaluating marketing effectiveness and market impact
- Evaluate marketing investments and recommend changes to priorities, resources, or approach
- Champion accountability, learning, and continuous improvement across institutional marketing
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of experience in strategic marketing, financial services marketing, institutional marketing, business strategy, consulting, product marketing, market intelligence, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience developing marketing strategies directly connected to business growth and strategic priorities
- Strong understanding of institutional financial services, retirement markets, insurance, investments, asset management, or related B2B financial markets
- Experience translating market, customer, competitive, and business intelligence into strategic recommendations
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and build alignment across complex, matrixed organizations
- Experience developing positioning, segmentation, value propositions, messaging, go-to-market strategies, or related strategic marketing frameworks
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
- Demonstrated ability to operate strategically while working effectively with execution teams
- Experience in Pension Risk Transfer, Defined Contribution, retirement income, Stable Value, asset management, insurance, or adjacent institutional markets
- Experience working with institutional buyers and influencers, including consultants, intermediaries, advisors, plan sponsors, institutional investors, recordkeepers, or retirement-focused organizations
- Experience building or leading market intelligence, competitive intelligence, customer insight, or strategic planning capabilities
- Experience developing thought leadership strategies and executive positioning programs
- Experience supporting large-scale growth, transformation, innovation, or new-market initiatives
- MBA or advanced degree preferred
