About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define business requirements for complex new and existing systems with clients
  • Formulate scope, objectives, and program specifications
  • Code, test, debug, document, and implement new systems and system changes
  • Write new programs and enhance existing programs according to specifications and programming standards
  • Implement program changes following documented change control procedures
  • Create program-level and system-level documentation, including specifications, data conversion maps, layouts, flowcharts, use cases, system overviews, and recovery instructions
  • Update status and time tracking weekly
  • Clarify business requirements and develop test cases with clients
  • Assist clients during testing, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
  • Provide on-call or after-hours application and technical support
  • Coordinate and perform unit, system, and model office testing
  • Verify test results meet business requirements
  • Estimate assignment completion times and create project action plans
  • Analyze requirements and design/configure system solutions, including interfaces, business rules, reports, user interfaces, and data conversions
  • Log, research, and analyze development and production issues
  • Document resolution alternatives and coordinate problem resolution
  • Review peer code for adherence to standards
  • Mentor new employees or provide cross-training
  • Present design solutions and obtain approvals
  • Participate in self-development and departmental standards committees
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field required
  • Minimum of 4 years programming and analysis experience required
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated multitasking skills
  • Understanding of systems development methodology
  • Must be able to perform computer-based tasks and access digital information, including through assistive technologies
  • Must be able to utilize office equipment as needed
  • Must be able to access and enter information accurately using automated systems
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external clients via telephone, electronic, or other communication systems
  • Must be able to present information to individuals and groups
  • Must be able to interpret and apply concepts that may or may not be based upon established guidelines
  • Must be able to maintain acceptable attendance and adhere to scheduled work hours
  • Occasional travel may be required
