About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform accounting, treasury, and cash management work for designated operational areas
  • Transfer funds and prepare journal entries
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Prepare and distribute internal and external financial reports
  • Prepare E-vouchers, cash receipt vouchers, and general expense vouchers
  • Maintain files and archives
  • Monitor daily cash activity and initiate cash transfers and banking requests
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets recording financial activity
  • Process special deposit interest payments
  • Initiate replacement of special deposit securities and related correspondence with financial institutions
  • Research laws and regulations for compliance
  • Prioritize activities and assignments, establish timelines, and manage milestones
  • Assist with General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Payroll duties as assigned
  • Interact with internal organizational stakeholders and external entities
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Director, Treasury & Billing Services

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or another business administration-related discipline required
  • Minimum of 1 year experience preferred
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Personal computer experience in a Windows environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven team environment
  • Ability to work with automated accounting systems
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to perform computer-based tasks and access digital information, including through assistive technologies
  • Ability to utilize office equipment
  • Ability to access and enter information accurately using automated systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients via telephone, electronic, or other communication systems
  • Ability to present information to individuals and groups
  • Ability to interpret and apply concepts that may or may not be based upon established guidelines
  • Acceptable attendance and adherence to scheduled work hours
