About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver technical assistance to customers through troubleshooting, configuration verification, and diagnostics for networking and security issues
- Own support cases from initiation through resolution
- Isolate faults and perform root-cause analysis while maintaining ticketing-system documentation
- Replicate customer network issues and validate configurations by simulating network topologies in a lab environment
- Collaborate with support teams, Account teams, QA, and Engineering to report product defects and track issue updates
- Document technical findings, configuration steps, and troubleshooting techniques in the internal knowledge base
- Use AI-powered diagnostic utilities, automated log analyzers, and machine-learning search tools to improve troubleshooting and reduce resolution time
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2–4 years of experience in a customer-facing technical support, network operations, or network security environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field, or equivalent practical/military experience
- Strong practical knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, routing/switching, VLSM, CIDR, DHCP, and NAT
- Hands-on experience capturing, analyzing, and interpreting packet traces using Wireshark or tcpdump
- Practical experience diagnosing and supporting Remote Access VPN solutions, including IPsec and SSL
- Foundational understanding of RADIUS, TACACS+, and LDAP
- Ability to manage fluctuating support-case queues and prioritize based on severity levels and SLAs
- CompTIA Security+ or introductory Cybersecurity Fundamentals certification preferred
- Familiarity with virtualization, hypervisors, or cloud computing fundamentals, including AWS, Azure, or VMware architectures preferred
- Basic familiarity with Unix/Linux and Windows environments preferred
- Exposure to multi-vendor security appliances, firewalls, or IDS/IPS preferred
- Must not require new visa sponsorship, including new H-1B petitions
- Applicants currently in OPT/CPT status who will require future sponsorship to maintain work authorization are not being considered
