About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Utilize the nursing process while delivering, directing, and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit
- Plan, coordinate, and provide patient care
- Participate in interdisciplinary planning
- Conduct discharge planning
- Provide patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization
- Access community resources
- Oversee dialysis treatments ordered by physicians for patients with acute or chronic kidney failure
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
- May serve as Charge Nurse
Requirements
What you’ll need- RN License in the state you are applying
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification is preferred initially and required after 90 days of employment
- ACLS is required from day 1 for all Charge Nurses, High Obs, and ICU
- Certification through the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) is preferred but not required
- Nursing education
- Ability to utilize the nursing process
- Ability to deliver, direct, and supervise patient care
- Dialysis nursing knowledge and ability to oversee dialysis treatments for patients with acute or chronic kidney failure
