About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a physician relationship and referral development resource supporting PAM Health hospitals and markets
- Maintain responsibility for patient referrals until admission
- Complete on-site, phone, or fax pre-admission assessments
- Review medical records and evaluate pre-certification coverage and admission criteria
- Obtain payer pre-certification and support the admissions process
- Assess admission appropriateness and recommend the appropriate level of care
- Orient patients and families to facility services and provide support and education
- Communicate daily with Admissions departments and facility CEOs to optimize census management and case-finding strategies
- Follow up on pending cases and medical denials
- Provide temporary market support during hospital openings, staffing transitions, census growth initiatives, and operational needs
- Identify and target new referral sources
- Build and maintain relationships with physicians and referral sources
- Market PAM Health programs and services through in-person appointments
- Maintain customer profiles and referral activity in approved account management systems
- Generate leads and referral opportunities through prospecting and relationship management
- Support referral and admission goals for assigned facilities and territories
- Participate in community events, health fairs, networking opportunities, and professional healthcare organizations
- Identify and educate physician and referral sources about PAM Health programs and services
- Schedule and provide educational in-services and presentations
- Coordinate facility tours
- Gather market intelligence and identify partnership and program opportunities
- Coordinate managed care relationship opportunities
- Maintain logs, reports, territory plans, expense reports, and account management updates
- Provide updates on activities, operational barriers, and market trends
- Deliver high-quality customer service while promoting PAM Health's mission and values
- Follow safety, universal precaution, employee health, and emergency procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- License in nursing, therapy, or social work or significant healthcare experience in marketing preferred
- Computer literate with the ability and desire to enhance skills utilizing PAM Health information systems
- Minimum of two years of experience in healthcare sales and/or marketing
- Prior experience calling on physicians and referral sources preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to changing operational needs
- Knowledge of healthcare admissions processes, payer authorization requirements, and referral management
- Strong relationship management skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with corporate and local leadership teams, referral sources, and physicians
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to charge expenses and complete expense reimbursement forms
- Ability to work extended hours and irregular schedules based on operational needs
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively nationally across PAM Health markets throughout the US
