About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide high-quality, prompt assistance with triaging and coordination of transfers from other facilities
- Monitor and respond to triage needs
- Complete the direct referral acceptance process
- Use technology to review patients’ clinical needs
- Deliver prompt communication of acceptance or deflection
- Collaborate closely with referral sources, physicians, nurses, and others
- Report to and remain accountable to the Director of Assessment and Referral for Voyages
- Support day and overnight coverage for a 24/7 department
Requirements
What you’ll need- RN licensure required in the state of Texas or compact license required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English required
- Crisis Management Certification per hospital policy and standards required
- ACLS within 90 days of date of hire required
- Previous experience in behavioral health and substance use field preferred
- Experience working with case management, hospitals, and admissions preferred
- Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills
- Organizational and multitasking skills
- May be required to work flexible hours
- Shifts will vary to support a 24/7 department, including day and overnight coverage with shift times that may vary over different US time zones
