About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the General Manager with key decisions and problem solving
- Plan and manage staffing needs, shift scheduling, people development, career development, and succession planning
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members
- Motivate, energize, engage, inspire, and celebrate the team
- Manage team performance to meet bakery-cafe goals, operational and quality standards, and guest service expectations
- Develop managers and subject matter experts in people processes and Panera's Guiding Values & Behaviors
- Ensure guests are delighted by food quality, service, and team performance
- Build relationships that create long-term, loyal guests
- Execute company strategies and initiatives through operational procedures
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and federal, state, and local regulations
- Maintain a healthy and safe workplace meeting Panera's health, food, safety, and company culture standards
- Assist the General Manager with controlling bakery-cafe costs and inventory
- Help build a culture of warmth, belonging, growth, and trust
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum age: 18 years
- 1+ years of restaurant management experience preferred
- ServSafe certification or ability to achieve
- Proven ability to drive positive results through strong business acumen
- Proven availability to run great shifts while directing, motivating, coaching, and developing others in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible availability including nights and weekends
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 50 pounds
- Capability to stand and walk for up to 6 hours
- Ability to clearly communicate and quickly understand guests' and associates' directions in a loud environment
- Background check required as a condition of employment
