About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Structure, negotiate, and execute acquisition deals in partnership with finance and legal teams
  • Lead financial evaluation of acquisition opportunities and analyze P&L models to inform valuation and deal strategy
  • Evaluate packages across the global marketplace and identify commercial opportunities
  • Cultivate relationships across agencies, financiers, filmmakers, producers, and international sales companies
  • Prepare for major film festivals and markets, including Sundance, Cannes, TIFF, and AFM
  • Represent the studio at festivals and markets through screenings and meetings with filmmakers, producers, and sales agents
  • Provide strategic guidance and creative feedback on acquired projects, including reviewing cuts during post-production
  • Monitor the domestic and international sales landscape and buyer sentiment
  • Oversee acquired titles from acquisition through release
  • Coordinate mastering, marketing, distribution, publicity, and legal teams for timely delivery and successful launch

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in film, Business, Media, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in film acquisitions, distribution, or sales, preferably with a major studio or agency
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling literacy
  • Ability to interpret P&L projections and apply financial insights to acquisition decision-making
  • Established industry relationships across the creative and sales communities
  • Strong understanding of the global film marketplace and distribution landscape
  • Proven ability to evaluate material, talent packages, and market dynamics through both a creative and commercial lens
  • Exemplary written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interface effectively with senior leadership and external partners
