About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee strategy and execution across dayparts and platforms
  • Motivate teams to build unique, visual, emotional, and compelling content in a state-of-the-art full AR/VR studio environment
  • Lead aggressive coverage of breaking news and weather events
  • Review and copy edit news scripts for accuracy, quality, and FCC compliance
  • Manage broadcast and digital platforms to maintain brand consistency
  • Use social media and digital tools to community listen, research, discover, and distribute content
  • Mentor and inspire on-air talent, producers, and photographers
  • Hold regular critique and feedback sessions and provide continuous coaching and mentoring
  • Work with the News Director and Assistant News Director on station events and community outreach projects
  • Complete additional duties assigned by the News Director

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6+ years experience as a producer or 3+ years experience as a news manager in a Top 25 market
  • Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or Communications
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Results-driven leadership
  • Ability to thrive on innovation and take risks
  • Mentoring ability; listens to and inspires a team
