About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Line up news bulletins
- Contribute to editorial decisions and pitch relevant stories
- Write, produce, and edit news stories
- Produce news content for digital and social channels
- Produce dynamic bulletins, including story development, script approvals, graphics, and animations from idea inception through broadcast
- Manage time pressures and meet multiple daily deadlines
- Use control room and lineup skills to ensure productions go to air accurately and smoothly
- Multitask as a valued member of the newsroom team
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of newsroom experience
- Degree or college education in Journalism
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines
- Control room and Line-Up experience
- Availability to work weekends and early/late shifts
- Video editing skills
- Knowledge of issues important to the audience
- Must be able to work in Sydney/Pyrmont, NSW, Australia
