About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and support in-house video, audio, and control systems
- Support the maintenance department with problem-solving and repair of broadcast systems
- Maintain network and system documentation
- Conform to CBS security policies, initiatives, and compliance reporting
- Supervise projects as they relate to wiring technicians
- Craft and support the systems needed to put together shows at the historic broadcast center
Requirements
What you’ll need- In-depth knowledge of broadcast systems, including compressed and uncompressed audio and video formats
- Knowledge of SMPTE 2110 IP design and implementation
- Knowledge of production control systems used in complex control rooms for live and non-live shows
- Basic knowledge of networking, subnetting, and VLAN implementation
- Solid knowledge of AutoCAD and Vizio
- Deep technical knowledge of current broadcast systems software, protocols, and standards
- Proven knowledge of network administration
- Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience
- Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information
- College diploma or University degree in Electrical or Broadcast engineering, or a minimum of 7 years of equivalent work experience
- Great listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a fast paced environment
- Skilled at working within a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Ability to conduct research into hardware and software issues and products as required
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
