About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and ship production-grade front-end features for the web using React, Next.js, and TypeScript
  • Improve and protect Core Web Vitals through rendering strategy, code splitting, lazy loading, and image and asset optimization
  • Build and evolve reusable components and shared patterns across the organization
  • Collaborate with design and product to design, develop, and test solutions to business challenges
  • Review code for style, testability, accessibility, and efficiency
  • Mentor engineers on front-end best practices
  • Contribute to TypeScript standards, shared types, and code generation
  • Use and contribute to monorepo tooling to support build, test, and deployment across web applications
  • Build reliable systems with testing, front-end monitoring, and alerting
  • Create documentation and diagrams to help onboard engineers
  • Use AI development tools to accelerate workflow and share effective practices with the team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience building scalable, production-grade web applications with React and Next.js
  • Strong expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript, including asynchronous programming, generics, strict typing, and modern ES6+ features
  • Deep knowledge of HTML and CSS, including responsive layout, cross-browser compatibility, accessibility, and performance optimization
  • Solid understanding of browser behavior, rendering, and front-end performance, including Core Web Vitals, lazy loading, and code splitting
  • Experience consuming REST and GraphQL APIs, including Apollo Client
  • Experience with monorepo tooling and workflows, such as Turborepo or Nx, including shared packages and task pipelines
  • Experience with component libraries or design systems and front-end unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
  • Working knowledge of Node.js for server-side rendering and API layers
  • Strong debugging and performance troubleshooting skills, including monitoring tools such as New Relic and OpenTelemetry
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Passion for sports and dedication to creating exceptional fan experiences
  • Preferred: experience with StyleX, CSS Modules, SASS, CSS-in-JS, design tokens, CMS platforms, AI development tools, Generative AI, RAG, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Redis, Memcached, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and cloud certifications
