About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Shape and ship the roadmap for the Live Services Platform
  • Build scalable services covering the path from scheduling to playback and monitoring
  • Design automation that removes manual steps from live event setup
  • Build self-healing workflows to improve reliability and reduce manual work
  • Own integrations between Summit and other systems for scheduling, channels, listings, signal acquisition, and monitoring
  • Maintain data flows across internal platforms and third-party services
  • Partner with Live Operations and Engineering to turn real-time needs into scalable backend solutions
  • Identify bottlenecks and design systems that perform better at scale
  • Write product documentation covering API contracts, workflows, sequence diagrams, and system designs
  • Provide engineering teams direction on architecture, dependencies, and integration patterns
  • Act as Product Owner for a dedicated engineering team
  • Manage the backlog, set priorities, and ship technical platform features
  • Align product, engineering, and operations stakeholders on platform strategy and delivery
  • Support major live event launches

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2-4 years in Technical Product Management or a closely related engineering role
  • Hands-on depth in backend systems, APIs, and/or platform products
  • Track record of shipping automation, orchestration, or distributed integrations
  • Solid knowledge of event-driven architecture
  • Knowledge of workflow orchestration and contracts between services
  • Comfort with APIs, system links, and data flows
  • Well-developed technical writing skills, including API specs, sequence diagrams, and system workflows
  • Experience owning a backlog and leading technical delivery on an Agile team
  • Live streaming, live sports, or broadcast operations experience strongly preferred
  • Experience integrating third-party data providers via versioned contracts
  • Knowledge of reliability patterns, including retries, reconciliation, and observability at scale
