About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Understand business and technical requirements and convert them into detailed test scenarios and test cases
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web, mobile, and API-based applications
- Perform functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, and sanity testing
- Validate end-to-end workflows across UI, API, and database layers
- Conduct UI testing for functionality, usability, and cross-browser compatibility
- Perform API testing using Postman or Swagger, validating requests, responses, status codes, and data integrity
- Execute database testing with SQL queries to validate data accuracy and backend processing
- Identify, log, track, and verify defects using JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar tools
- Collaborate with Developers, Product Owners, and Business teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues
- Participate in test planning, execution, reporting, and release sign-off activities
- Support UAT activities and coordinate stakeholder validation and issue resolution
- Develop and maintain UI/API automation frameworks and test scripts
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines
- Analyze test results and communicate quality metrics to stakeholders
- Mentor junior QA team members and contribute to QA process improvements
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Standups, Reviews, and Retrospectives
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7–8 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Testing
- Strong expertise in Manual Testing methodologies and processes
- API Testing using Postman, Swagger, and REST APIs
- UI/Web Testing experience
- SQL/Database Testing, including complex queries, joins, and validations
- Experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent automation tools
- Knowledge of BDD/TDD tools such as Cucumber, SpecFlow, or Gherkin
- Experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks
- Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC
- Experience with microservices and backend systems
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar tools
- Experience in defect tracking, test management, and reporting
- Experience in cross-browser and cross-platform testing
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Strong experience working in Agile development environments
- Hands-on exposure to Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and XP methodologies
- Preferred: experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms
- Preferred: exposure to JMeter, LoadRunner, or k6
- Preferred: knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Preferred: experience in containerized environments
- Relevant ISTQB or Agile Testing certifications preferred
