About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead engineering projects from planning and permitting through design, construction, and closeout
  • Manage municipal solid waste, environmental compliance, and related infrastructure projects
  • Prepare and oversee engineering reports, permit applications, plans, specifications, and construction documents
  • Coordinate with TCEQ, NMED, ODEQ, EPA, and other regulatory agencies
  • Develop grading, drainage, stormwater, erosion control, and site development designs
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, staffing, and client expectations
  • Review work prepared by engineering staff and provide technical direction
  • Mentor EITs and junior engineers
  • Support business development, proposals, client relationship management, and project pursuits
  • Serve as Engineer of Record and seal engineering documents where appropriate
  • Collaborate with team members to develop proposals, scopes, and fees
  • Collaborate with CADD technicians and EITs to develop construction drawings and specifications
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Biosystems Engineering, Biological Systems Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline
  • Professional Engineer registration in Texas, New Mexico, or Oklahoma
  • Ability to obtain and maintain registration in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive engineering experience; 7+ years preferred
  • Experience with environmental permitting and regulatory compliance
  • Experience managing projects and client relationships
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate with team members, CADD technicians, and EITs to develop proposals, scopes, fees, construction drawings, and specifications
