  • Translate complex education concepts, research, product information, and school stories into clear, engaging content

  • Adapt tone, framing, and depth for audiences ranging from teachers to district leaders
  • Revise writing using feedback to strengthen quality, speed, and editorial judgment
  • Shape and manage the editorial calendar in alignment with organizational priorities
  • Own Participate Learning’s blog as a useful destination for educators and education leaders
  • Identify opportunities to revisit, strengthen, and repurpose existing content
  • Lead editorial development of recurring communications, including product emails and organization-wide news updates
  • Apply search and digital content best practices with marketing colleagues
  • Write from educators’ and school leaders’ perspectives
  • Collaborate with Product, Research and Evaluation, Implementation, Partnerships, and Marketing teams
  • Adapt core content for social media, design, paid media, sales enablement, and other channels and campaigns
  • Provide editorial judgment during collaborative reviews
  • Manage multiple writing projects and deadlines while maintaining high quality

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Education, or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of professional writing, editorial, communications, education, or related experience
  • Demonstrated exceptional writing ability through a portfolio of substantive work
  • Meaningful professional experience in K–12 education, education publishing, education communications, or a role requiring deep engagement with schools and educators
  • Experience interviewing subject-matter experts and translating complex information into compelling content
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Strong command of language, structure, tone, voice, and nuance
  • Strong synthesis skills and ability to identify connections across multiple sources, concepts, and perspectives
  • Deep understanding of K–12 audiences and ability to write with credibility and empathy for educators
  • Excellent interviewing and listening skills
  • Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail
  • Strong research skills and intellectual curiosity
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively across teams
  • Content marketing, SEO, email marketing, campaign strategy, analytics, or digital marketing experience is valuable but not required
  • Passion for global perspectives, languages, cultures, and travel
  • Cameras on during most Zoom meetings
  • Belief that global education is for everyone
