About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the Americas month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Manage the regional accounting calendar and escalate risks or issues affecting financial results
  • Oversee Americas balance sheet integrity through reconciliations, account ownership, aging analysis, and resolution of outstanding items
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, reserves, and key accounting transactions
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Americas accounting team
  • Serve as regional owner and primary contact for internal controls
  • Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, fixed assets, inventory, intercompany transactions, reserves, accruals, and working capital accounts
  • Provide leadership for Americas cost accounting activities
  • Coordinate income tax, sales and use tax, information reporting, and other compliance requirements
  • Partner with FP&A, Operations, Treasury, and business leaders on financial visibility, working capital, and cash flow forecasting
  • Support working capital and cash flow forecast preparation and review
  • Lead participation in internal and external audits
  • Drive continuous improvement in controls, processes, procedures, automation, and ERP utilization
  • Ensure accounting policies, procedures, and approval requirements are consistently applied
  • Monitor risks, identify process enhancements, and implement efficiency, scalability, and control improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including corporate accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close management
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience managing accounting teams
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Experience managing balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, reserves, and general ledger accounting processes
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits and maintaining an effective internal control environment
  • Knowledge of cost accounting principles within a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with cross-functional teams, including FP&A, Operations, Tax, HR, and external advisors
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods of time
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. may be required
