About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with on-site property inspections
  • Perform final reviews of appraisal reports and client deliverables for inspected jobs
  • Ensure reports comply with USPAP requirements for subject property sites, physical improvements, and surrounding areas observed during inspections
  • Prepare necessary exhibits and memoranda illustrating inspections
  • Travel frequently to assigned on-site properties, with travel exceeding 50% per month
  • Manage travel arrangements and associated expense reports
  • Participate in internal and external client meetings as needed
  • Build relationships with market and business-line leaders to exchange best practices, accelerate innovation, and ensure quality and consistency

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Certified General Real Estate Appraiser license issued and active in at least one state; applicants without a CG license will not be considered
  • Must permanently reside in northern Illinois or southern Wisconsin
  • Willingness to become licensed in multiple states
  • MAI designation or candidate preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another relevant field, though the field of study is not required
  • Strategic understanding of commercial real estate appraisal
  • Active driver's license
  • Ability to travel easily between states
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent time/calendar management strongly desired
  • Prior experience and expertise with Microsoft products, especially Outlook and Teams
  • Ability to drive to asset tours; airline travel may also be necessary
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person, by telephone, and via email
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read printed materials and computer screens
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
