About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Ensure the completeness and accuracy of all accounting data by recording, reviewing, and posting business transactions.
Prepare journal entries as part of the monthly close process.
Perform monthly account reconciliations.
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
Review, record, and process vendor invoices.
Obtain the necessary approvals and prepare payments.
Maintain vendor master data and tax-related documentation.
Ensure compliance with VAT requirements.
Support the tracking of payments to external service providers and contractors.
Support internal and external audits.
Collaborate with auditors on interim and year-end audits.
Provide relevant documentation and supporting evidence.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and applicable accounting standards, particularly IFRS.
Contribute to ad hoc finance projects.
Provide cover for and support team members as needed.
Actively collaborate with international teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Fluent German, both written and spoken.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a comparable field.
At least 2 years of professional experience in financial accounting or a comparable accounting role.
Experience in SaaS, software, technology, or other international companies.
Hands-on experience with month-end close.
Experience in accounts payable.
Experience with account reconciliations and general ledger accounting.
Good knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
Experience with European entities and VAT processes.
Experience working in an international or remote environment.
Experience with HubSpot, Ramp, or comparable financial and operational systems.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Independent, structured, and detail-oriented approach to work.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
