About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Advise senior management and stakeholders on data privacy, AI, cybersecurity, and technology law
- Drive and continuously improve GDPR compliance and related frameworks
- Identify emerging risks early and propose practical responses
- Lead negotiation and drafting of commercial agreements, including MSAs, technology and HR contracts, DPAs, and TIAs
- Build and evolve global data protection governance, including policies, procedures, templates, and decision-making frameworks
- Lead legal responses to data breaches and data subject requests
- Coordinate with relevant internal functions
- Create and deliver privacy training and awareness programs
- Steer global privacy initiatives and act as an internal subject matter expert
- Manage external counsel and serve as a key contact for regulators and public authorities when needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Law degree and bar admission (Swiss bar admission a plus)
- 4–10 years of relevant experience
- Experience in an international law firm and/or in-house environment
- Financial services and/or technology exposure preferred
- Strong, hands-on knowledge of GDPR and privacy risk management in real-world business settings
- Proven strength in drafting and negotiating technology and commercial contracts, including privacy and data transfer provisions
- Confident judgment under pressure, including incident response
- Ability to balance legal risk, urgency, and business priorities
- Clear communication skills and ability to simplify complex topics and influence decisions across levels and functions
- Organised, pragmatic, and improvement-minded
- Fluent English
- German is an advantage
