About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead complex, cross-functional software initiatives from design through production adoption
- Provide technical direction for solution architecture, implementation, and platform evolution
- Drive modernization, automation, and reliability improvements
- Define and improve coding, testing, integration, and deployment standards
- Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, observable, and maintainable
- Provide quality assurance for internal and external engineering teams
- Partner with business stakeholders from problem framing through solution adoption
- Influence technical decisions across engineering, architecture, data, and delivery
- Mentor engineers and lead peer reviews and knowledge-sharing activities
- Champion secure-by-design, privacy-by-design, and control-by-design principles
- Ensure practices comply with policies, regulatory obligations, and risk tolerances
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's degree or equivalent experience; Computer Science, Engineering, or quantitative discipline preferred
- At least 7 years in software engineering, ideally in financial services
- Experience leading complex development initiatives, guiding engineering teams, and managing production services
- Demonstrated expertise in system design, quality, security, and reliability
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence technical decisions
- Familiarity with Private Equity, fund management, or investment operations desirable
- Advanced proficiency in Python or Java
- Confirmed hands-on expertise with relational databases and SQL
- Proven experience in API design and development
- Strong practical experience with AWS EC2, Lambda, ECS, Fargate, and S3
- Experience with modern AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code
- Experience building or working with autonomous AI agent workflows desirable
- Frontend development experience in React and TypeScript desirable
- Experience with workflow and job orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or Control-M desirable
- Experience with serverless and microservices architectures desirable
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices desirable
- Experience with messaging and data streaming technologies such as Kafka, SQS, or Amazon Kinesis desirable
- Experience with data warehousing technologies like Snowflake desirable
