About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support production of project plans for site development, municipal, and airport projects throughout the Southeast
- Assist with conceptual designs, engineering calculations, preliminary and detailed cost estimates, and permitting documents
- Support development of design documents, construction plans, technical specifications, engineering reports, and bid packages
- Perform civil engineering design tasks under licensed professional engineers, including grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, pavement, erosion control, and site geometry
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software to prepare plans, profiles, surfaces, quantities, and design documentation
- Assist with quantity takeoffs, engineer's estimates, technical research, and project documentation
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, designers, surveyors, and other disciplines
- Participate in client, agency, and project-team meetings
- Assist with construction administration services in the office and field, including site observations, submittal reviews, RFIs, and project closeout documentation
- Participate in internal quality-control reviews and professional development activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, completed or expected by the position start date
- 0-2 years of civil engineering experience; relevant internship, co-op, or prior AEC experience is preferred
- Coursework in civil/infrastructure design, transportation engineering, water resources, pavement engineering, construction management, or related topics
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Civil 3D preferred
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or ability and commitment to obtain EIT certification, preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative project-team environment and manage multiple assignments
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to report to the St. Augustine, FL office
