About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and complete AI enablement projects across licensing and consumption, cloud platform and integration, governance and security, and training and adoption
  • Oversee all aspects of assigned projects, including deadlines, responsibilities, progress monitoring and senior-management reporting
  • Build and maintain relationships with branch directors, team members, vendors, ministries and other partners
  • Compile project charters, business plans and project plans
  • Collaborate with business and IT leadership to define objectives, scope, assumptions, timelines, resources, risks, benefits and budgets
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects for different directors and sponsors while balancing priorities, resources and dependencies
  • Develop project schedules, estimate resources, monitor work plans and take corrective action
  • Document and report project status against objectives, milestones, budgets and resources
  • Plan and manage enterprise AI licence rollout, allocation, quota tracking, ServiceNow provisioning, reassignment and reclamation
  • Develop chargeback and cost-recovery mechanisms for AI licences and consumption-based services
  • Support onboarding of new AI providers, models and agents to the approved catalogue
  • Establish reporting on licence utilization, consumption and spend and provide leadership recommendations
  • Manage cloud, on-premises and direct-to-provider AI platform integration, including environments, sandboxes, landing zones, APIs, identity and access, and data connectors
  • Manage model and platform lifecycle activities, including deprecation and migrations
  • Plan transition of new capabilities into ongoing operations, including support models, monitoring, documentation and handoff
  • Coordinate STRAs, PIAs, information classification and data residency reviews
  • Obtain security, privacy, legal and enterprise architecture approvals
  • Apply responsible AI standards and guardrails to project design, testing and release
  • Plan and coordinate User Acceptance Testing and release-readiness reviews
  • Coordinate role-based training, adoption planning, use-case identification and change-management support
  • Develop requirements documentation, user guidance, support pathways and knowledge articles
  • Track training completion and adoption against targets
  • Plan and manage pilots from intake through recommendation on enterprise enablement
  • Produce deliverables for support teams, steering committees, executive and ministerial audiences
  • Manage project communications, risk escalation, client satisfaction, outcome assessment and lessons learned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Senior-level project management experience in enterprise IT and cloud environments
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure and Google Cloud services
  • Knowledge of SaaS licensing and tenant administration concepts
  • Knowledge of cloud subscription and consumption models
  • Knowledge of identity and access management
  • General understanding of line-of-business applications and architectures
  • Familiarity with generative AI and agentic AI concepts, including assistants, agents, grounding, model selection, responsible AI risks, and token- or consumption-based cost drivers
  • Sound understanding of IT change and communication management
  • Sound understanding of User Acceptance Testing frameworks
  • Sound understanding of security and privacy assessment processes, including STRA and PIA
  • Experience delivering change in large, federated organizations where adoption depends on distributed business champions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including producing material for Deputy Minister and Minister-level audiences
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Awareness of Government of Alberta and departmental IT policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and practices is an asset
  • Familiarity with vendor licensing and procurement constructs is an asset
