About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Grow profitable sales with existing customers and develop business with prospective new customers for the Midwest territory
  • Meet sales goals set by management
  • Focus on injectable and oral solid dose services, with packaging, labeling, and manufacturing within a CDMO environment
  • Identify and contact prospective clients through email and telephone calls
  • Communicate with team members about potential trends and market movement
  • Update databases with business opportunities, client data, and communications
  • Maintain and expand relationships with existing clients and internal teams
  • Sell additional upstream and downstream services and execute pricing guidance
  • Collaborate with the global proposals team on sales opportunities
  • Negotiate final pricing and terms within stated parameters
  • Attend and participate in sales meetings, conventions, and tradeshows
  • Partner with BD colleagues in other segments to drive cross-selling opportunities
  • Work with Quality and Operations to develop and improve industry knowledge
  • Share industry knowledge with the BD team during monthly meetings
  • Work with the VP of BD and Business Proposal Team to improve proposal templates and processes
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or 5-10 years related experience and/or training
  • Basic Mathematical Skills
  • Intermediate Computer Skills and knowledge of various computer programs
  • Full Professional Proficiency: ability to speak, read, and write fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs
  • High Reasoning: ability to solve practical problems and interpret varied instructions
  • High Standard of Report Writing
  • Must be able to travel to attend sales meetings, conventions, and tradeshows
  • Knowledge of and adherence to PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, and rules
  • Previous experience negotiating pricing, contracts, confidentiality agreements, supply agreements, and consignment agreements is a plus
  • Ability to effectively present information
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage time and clients successfully
  • Interest in the healthcare market
  • Highly organized and able to manage short- to medium-term projects
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Efficient time management and organizational skills; ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proficiency in Salesforce
