HSE Coordinator – Nights
PCL Construction. Monitor and assist with implementation of the project HSE Plan, environmental plan, regulatory requirements, and safe work practices.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor and assist with implementation of the project HSE Plan, environmental plan, regulatory requirements, and safe work practices.
- Identify and assist in conducting project-specific HSE training.
- Provide the project team with HSE information and trends and assist in creating action plans.
- Assist with development and implementation of hazard identification tools.
- Conduct project HSE inspections and verify corrective actions have been implemented.
- Support project teams with emergency response plan implementation and monitor project security requirements.
- Gather, review, and provide input on trade documentation and monitor trade contractor safety compliance.
- Verify equipment and tool inspections are conducted and documented as required.
- Notify appropriate stakeholders of incidents and support investigations.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Working toward Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Working toward safety designation.
- 1 year of experience in a related industry.
- Ability to learn applicable OH&S, environmental legislation and HSE processes.
- Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve conflicts with craft workers.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to effectively problem solve.
- Ability to learn construction processes and terminology.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
