About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build virtual models from plans, specifications, and elevations with direct supervision
- Collaborate with the project team on construction site logistics models
- Collaborate on trade partner model coordination and report to the project management team as appropriate
- Assist with model updates
- Support the project team in creating and processing RFIs
- Promote virtual construction tools and processes to project staff
- Share new technologies with project teams and drive adoption of PCL technologies through operational processes
- Develop and maintain customer-focused relationships with stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree, diploma, or 2-year certificate in a buildings-industry related discipline (e.g., architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC), civil, architectural)
- Some co-op or relevant experience in a construction environment preferred
- Drafting and modeling experience
- Ability to read and understand 2D and 3D construction drawings and specifications is an asset
- Working knowledge and training in 3D modeling software and the ability to create content in VDC software is an asset
- Exposure to 4D scheduling software and planning tools is an asset
- Ability to read and interpret markups to construction drawings
- Ability to participate in trade coordination meetings and understand trade partner deliverables and scope
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Organizational skills, high level of detail orientation, and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines
