About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support estimators on preparing bids and proposals
- Complete quantity, material, and labor takeoffs from project documents
- Apply material unit prices or allowances and base labor productivities to estimates
- Assist with bid document control and document, organize, and archive estimate information for transfer to the project team
- Support the lead bid runner with bid-day assignments
- Solicit competitive pricing from subtrade partners and suppliers for pursuits
- Develop and maintain relationships with the lead estimator, lead bid runner, subtrade partners, and suppliers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in related discipline or trade experience or equivalent
- Some relevant experience in a construction environment is preferred
- Basic knowledge of the construction industry and key principles involved in bid preparation
- Understands and uses takeoff systems
- Ability to converse with and solicit trades and comfortable with cold-calling
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with interested parties including the ability to solicit subtrade partners and suppliers
- Working knowledge of estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong aptitude for adopting new technology
