About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with departmental leadership to develop, drive, and execute HR best-practice policies, programs, and training
  • Provide value-added HR services to management and employees aligned with organizational objectives
  • Attend department meetings to understand business activities
  • Advise, coach, and provide HR solutions to functional and business leaders
  • Support change management across business and service lines
  • Drive talent assessment and career development initiatives
  • Lead workforce planning through talent planning, including framework management, communication, reporting, gap analysis, action plans, monitoring, and executive sponsorship
  • Deliver succession and replacement planning programs with leaders
  • Maintain knowledge of succession planning best practices and update related policies and procedures
  • Provide leadership training on succession planning tools, best practices, and processes
  • Research and implement succession planning for critical and key positions
  • Facilitate talent reviews and succession planning discussions
  • Collaborate with CEOD on talent development programs
  • Create reports and monitor succession plan effectiveness and HRIS data integrity
  • Research and implement employee retention strategies and programs
  • Conduct exit interviews, employee and management focus groups, and trend analysis
  • Promote employee engagement and assist with engagement survey results
  • Work with compensation, benefits, employee relations, CEOD, and disability management disciplines
  • Assist with local audits

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or related field and three (3) years of professional Human Resources experience with emphasis in an HR generalist role; OR Bachelor’s degree in the same fields and five (5) years of professional Human Resources experience with emphasis in an HR generalist role
  • Professional Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification and/or SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP certification preferred
  • Strong HR generalist experience with emphasis in workforce and succession planning, compensation, change management and/or retention programs preferred
  • Demonstrated success consulting effectively with senior level management and influencing business unit leaders preferred
  • Recent work experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Working knowledge of federal and state labor laws related to all aspects of human resources
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to interface with management and employees at all organizational levels
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including extended sitting, computer usage, and walking throughout departments or a medical complex
