About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead installation, setup, and configuration of machine vision tunnels, RFID systems, conveyors, robotics, and other advanced industrial systems
  • Lead system integration and calibration activities
  • Provide expert guidance on installation best practices, troubleshooting, and system calibration
  • Mentor and train junior technicians and customer teams on system operation and maintenance
  • Serve as the primary technical contact during installations
  • Conduct site assessments to verify power, networking, and environmental readiness
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues during and after installation
  • Perform preventive maintenance and create detailed service reports
  • Develop and maintain installation guides, wiring diagrams, and calibration reports
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards
  • Develop and manage complex projects across multiple locations
  • Delegate work to other project resources on large projects when needed
  • Work with the Assigned Sales Team, Sr. Solutions Consultant, and Director Solutions and Services

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Cognex In-Sight and/or DataMan and vision experience is required
  • Technical four-year degree, but experience in lieu of degree will be considered
  • 5+ years in field service or installation roles
  • Advanced experience with machine vision systems, including Cognex, Keyence, Basler, Matrox, and Teledyne/FLIR
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Proactivity and self-direction
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, procedure manuals, and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively individually and before groups of customers and employees
  • Primary language used in daily operations is English
  • Ability to take accountability and responsibility for business target delivery and decision-making
  • Ability to travel for company events, training, and customer visits
  • Ability to perform the listed physical activities, including standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, talking/hearing, and lifting up to 25 lbs
  • Compliance with safety standards including Lockout-Tagout, Hazmat, and Industrial Safety
