About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Advance Pearce’s health, safety, and environmental objectives across Solar, Energy Storage Systems, UPS, Battery, Wind, and EV operations
- Partner with HSE and Operations leadership to establish, monitor, and achieve safety objectives and performance metrics
- Promote zero harm, electrical safety, safe work practices, and vehicle incident prevention
- Coach operational leaders, managers, supervisors, and field technicians on HSE expectations, electrical safety standards, and driver safety practices
- Conduct field safety audits, inspections, and observations
- Identify safety gaps and develop corrective action plans
- Lead and support investigations involving injuries, electrical incidents, vehicle incidents, near misses, and other safety events
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Track and report injuries, illnesses, incidents, corrective actions, and HSE performance metrics
- Manage and support the driver safety program and reduce preventable vehicle incidents
- Develop and deliver HSE training on electrical hazards, safe driving, field safety, and operational risks
- Develop and update HSE policies, procedures, training materials, and safety communications
- Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and HSE communications
- Partner with customers and internal stakeholders on HSE requirements and safety expectations
- Monitor HSE performance trends and recommend risk-reduction and improvement actions
- Support HSE management systems and reporting processes
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, federal, state, and local HSE requirements
- Travel to project sites and operational locations throughout the United States for HSE support, training, audits, incident response, and coaching
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of HSE, safety coordination, or related safety experience
- Experience preferably supporting Solar, ESS, UPS, Battery, Wind, EV, electrical, renewable-energy, critical-power, or similar field-service operations
- Knowledge of electrical safety practices and hazards associated with electrical and energy-related field operations
- Experience supporting or managing driver and vehicle safety programs, including incident prevention and corrective actions
- Experience conducting incident investigations, root-cause analysis, field audits, safety inspections, and corrective action tracking
- Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, federal, and state HSE regulations
- Familiarity with Cal/OSHA requirements preferred
- Ability to develop, implement, and support HSE programs, procedures, policies, and safety initiatives
- Experience developing and delivering safety training to field employees, technicians, supervisors, and operational leaders
- Ability to analyze HSE metrics and incident trends and translate findings into practical recommendations and preventive actions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to coach, influence, and build credibility with employees and leaders at all levels
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a remote and field-based environment
- Ability to collaborate with HSE, Operations, customers, and other cross-functional stakeholders
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 70% throughout the United States
- Preferred candidate in Midwest States: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, or Wisconsin
