About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build the Pella brand within the architectural community as a premier window and door solutions provider
  • Develop long-term relationships with architects and trade organizations
  • Generate architectural project specifications and sales lead hand-offs
  • Develop continuing education opportunities for current and potential customers
  • Originate new business relationships through networking, referrals, and face-to-face meetings
  • Coordinate, promote, and advance visibility of the Pella product line
  • Represent Pella Windows & Doors at company events, professional presentations, trade association meetings, and consumer home shows
  • Participate in CSI, AIA, and other relevant trade and industry bodies
  • Compile prospective customer lists and conduct outbound lead follow-up by phone and email
  • Present product demonstrations and quote remodeling and new construction residential and commercial projects using PQM, Microsoft Office, and other systems
  • Present Lunch and Learn educational programs to architects, engineers, contractors, building owners, and managers
  • Follow up on leads from Dodge reports, Reed Construction, Pella Corporation, and outstanding proposals
  • Respond to client concerns and resolve issues through independent decision-making
  • Maintain product and competitive-market expertise
  • Educate customers on installation guidelines and measure openings for accurate ordering
  • Collaborate with Pella teams and departments on product requirements
  • Manage customer interactions and proactive communications through CRM tools
  • Keep manager informed while working independently
  • Support personal and career development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior experience working with architects and trade organizations
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public
  • Clean and neat physical appearance; strict adherence to company dress code
  • Ability to solve practical and arithmetic problems
  • Ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to drive an automobile and travel locally
  • Valid driver’s license and compliant motor vehicle record
  • Must have a vehicle for transporting equipment and materials
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques
  • Ability to read, interpret, and take off blueprints
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and smart devices
  • Ability to learn internal software programs and applications
  • CRM systems proficiency
  • Ability to work variable, non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends
