About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build the Pella brand as a premier commercial window and door solutions provider
  • Achieve individual sales and customer satisfaction goals
  • Prospect for and secure new business through networking, referrals, and face-to-face meetings
  • Generate growth within existing accounts through trust and long-standing partnerships
  • Represent Pella at architecture/design firms, professional groups, commercial association meetings, and builder home shows
  • Use a consultative sales approach to recommend fenestration solutions
  • Leverage Pella team members and departments for specific product requirements
  • Ensure quotes and orders are accurate and comply with company processes
  • Respond to customer concerns and coordinate resources for first-time resolution
  • Maintain expertise on Pella products and services, competitive landscape, and commercial building codes
  • Educate customers on manufacturer installation guidelines and measure openings for accurate ordering and applications
  • Collaborate with Operations teams on after-sale service and installations
  • Work with Accounts Receivable on billing and payment issues
  • Use CRM tools to manage customer interactions and proactively communicate
  • Spend a minimum of 60% of time in the field at customer sites generating account growth and prospecting
  • Meet or exceed sales goals and manage larger, more complex accounts and projects
  • Serve as a role model and subject matter resource

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience, including commercial sales and technical product expertise, or equivalent combination of education and experience/expertise
  • Motor vehicle record must comply with company requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in an environment of constant interruptions and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to read and analyze documents related to contracts and work documents
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence
  • Ability to verbally present information and respond to questions from customers, managers, and the general public
  • Must present a clean and neat physical appearance and strictly abide by company dress code
  • Ability to solve practical and arithmetic problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to drive an automobile and meet the stated physical demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to drive to showrooms, job sites, customer/contractor locations, and company functions
  • Travel expectations are around 50%-75%
  • Proven success in securing and managing strategic, more complex sales projects
  • Ability to negotiate, build value, address objections, and close sales
  • Ability to build customer trust and develop long-standing partnerships and referrals
  • Networking skills and ability to relate to a variety of customers
  • Ability to manage lengthy sales cycles and provide superb customer service
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional departments and builders, architects, sub-trades, and owners
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to accurately read, interpret, and take-off blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Ability to adapt to changing processes and priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and smart devices, and ability to learn internal software programs and applications
