About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Use AI and traditional research tools to source, screen, and research prospective companies
- Support financial modeling and diligence work, applying judgment to check and refine outputs
- Identify, test, and adopt new AI tools and workflows
- Identify and reach out to promising companies
- Monitor prospects, create alerts, and prepare first-contact materials and research
- Conduct initial screening calls with founders and management teams
- Research target industries, competitors, and market trends, including healthtech
- Develop and maintain financial models for investment decisions, portfolio valuations, and scenario analysis
- Conduct financial assessments of prospective investments, analyzing business models, revenue streams, and unit economics
- Contribute to due diligence, including leading financial due diligence, assessing market dynamics and competition, and evaluating risks
- Prepare investment memos and presentations for the investment committee
- Support capital allocation decisions with data-driven insights into portfolio performance and resource requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field
- 2–3 years of experience in financial analysis, investment banking, private equity, management consulting, venture capital, or a similar field
- Proficiency in Excel, including advanced financial modeling
- Proficiency in financial databases such as Bloomberg and CapIQ
- Proficiency in presentation tools such as PowerPoint
- Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow modeling, and valuation techniques
- Experience conducting research using a range of data sources
- Ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights and recommendations
- Proactive and curious analytical mindset with demonstrated interest in investing
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and self-motivated
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
