About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and implement the procurement strategy in line with the company’s objectives
  • Identify, select, and negotiate with strategic suppliers and partners
  • Lead commercial negotiations to optimize costs, lead times, and contractual terms
  • Develop and maintain a reliable supplier network, particularly internationally
  • Establish procedures to secure and standardize procurement activities
  • Monitor and analyze supplier performance
  • Oversee the entire logistics chain, from sourcing through delivery
  • Ensure the availability of the equipment, materials, raw materials, and resources required
  • Optimize goods flows and transportation costs
  • Coordinate import, export, and transit operations
  • Anticipate supply disruptions and implement alternative solutions
  • Monitor and optimize inventory levels
  • Structure and develop the procurement and logistics organization
  • Manage, support, and develop the skills of local teams and relevant stakeholders
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement action plans
  • Provide regular reporting to senior management
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and partners located in different countries
  • Take into account constraints related to international operations
  • Contribute to the development and security of international flows
  • Propose improvements to optimize international operations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree (Bac+5 equivalent) in procurement, supply chain, logistics, international business, management, or a related field
  • Significant professional experience of at least 8–10 years in procurement and/or supply chain, including proven experience in a position of responsibility
  • Mandatory experience in the mining sector (mining operations or extractive industries)
  • In-depth knowledge of the specific procurement and supply chain challenges of the mining sector
  • Experience in an international or African context strongly preferred
  • Experience managing suppliers and negotiating high-value contracts
  • Management experience and the ability to structure an organization
  • Professional proficiency in English is essential
  • Strong command of management tools, ERP systems, and procurement/logistics management software
  • Strong ability to work in a multicultural and remote environment
  • Expertise in procurement strategies and processes
  • Excellent supplier negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in supply and inventory management
  • Good knowledge of transportation and international logistics
  • Proficiency in budget monitoring and performance indicators
  • Ability to analyze costs and identify optimization opportunities
