About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as technical lead for a small team of data engineers responsible for developing, maintaining, and modernizing DEAP ingest loaders
  • Support an Agile team with engineering and maintenance of services and processes that migrate and promote data and algorithms to AWS and supporting cloud databases
  • Design, code, test, and implement AWS cloud-based solutions
  • Gather requirements and estimate tasks with the customer and Peraton team
  • Perform routine data checks, code development, and quality checks
  • Plan, design, and implement databases
  • Perform systems analysis, design, and implementation
  • Conduct code reviews and cloud deployments
  • Provide regular progress updates within the Agile framework and through weekly status reporting
  • Support the CFTC DEAP project by analyzing, maintaining, and developing high-volume financial market data ingest pipelines and related processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar discipline and at least 8 years of experience, or a minimum of 6 years of experience with a Master's degree, or a minimum of 3 years with a PhD
  • Familiarity with AWS, Lambda, S3, Git, Azure DevOps, EC2, Step Functions, Hive, Glue, Spectrum, Athena, SNS, and SQS
  • Strong experience with databases and programming using SQL, Python, XML, and C# .NET
  • Strong experience analyzing and designing data migration strategies from an on-premises SQL Server data warehouse to cloud data warehouses using Redshift and RDS
  • Experience with ETL processes using AWS resources
  • Working experience with XML data exchange message formats, including required modifications or extensions
  • AWS Solutions Architect certification
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Ability to work onsite at least 3 days per week in Washington, DC
