About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support data-driven decision-making for critical missions within Peraton's Risk Decision Group
Design, develop, and optimize analytic solutions for mission-critical applications
Transform raw data into meaningful insights
Develop scalable dashboards and support enterprise reporting initiatives
Develop advanced T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers
Review execution plans, indexing strategies, and performance plans
Analyze, ingest, and/or correct data within an Enterprise Data Warehouse
Develop and optimize data workflows and ETL processes using Tableau Prep and Python
Manage content, permissions, data sources, and performance tuning within Tableau and SQL Server
Extract, manipulate, and analyze structured and unstructured data using complex SQL queries
Collaborate with business partners to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality through validation and testing
Support BI governance, documentation, and analytics-environment best practices
Automate recurring reporting tasks using Python or SQL-based solutions
Design, build, and maintain advanced Tableau dashboards and reports

Requirements

What you’ll need

U.S. Citizenship required
Must be able to obtain and maintain a T5/SSBI federally adjudicated clearance
Minimum of 5 years with BS/BA; minimum of 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD
Advanced SQL skills with experience querying large datasets
Experience designing, creating, implementing, and optimizing database indexes
Experience with database performance tuning, query execution plans, performance bottlenecks, and SQL query optimization
Experience designing, developing, and supporting an Enterprise Data Warehouse
Expertise in business analytics and translating complex data into actionable insights
Experience creating SOPs and extensive workflow/process documentation
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Preferred: Tableau Prep, Tableau Desktop, and Tableau Server administration
Preferred: Databricks
Preferred: Python for data cleaning, transformation, and automation
Preferred: AI and machine learning
Preferred: APIs, scripting, or workflow orchestration tools
Preferred: Version control systems such as Git
Preferred: Data governance, metadata management, or enterprise BI strategy
Preferred: Cloud technologies such as AWS
Ability to translate business needs into insightful solutions
Strong collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams
Clear documentation and communication in fast-paced environments
Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment
Ability to work multiple projects and adjust priorities as needed
