About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support U.S. Marine Corps enterprise-level hybrid-cloud data center operations
- Provide hands-on training and analysis for position-specific requirements and new technologies and processes in the USMC application hosting environment
- Train staff responsible for operations and security of critical infrastructure supporting worldwide USMC operations
- Provide hands-on skills training to new TAC Analysts and Datacenter Operations staff
- Ensure staff are certified to perform assigned tasks involving management, monitoring, incident response, and hybrid-cloud datacenter infrastructure support
- Deliver hands-on training on role- and position-specific systems for onboarding and integration
- Deliver hands-on training on new technologies and processes for TAC members
- Collaborate with TAC Lead, Shift Leads, and Deputies to plan and execute training
- Collaborate with Training Developer, HCS engineers, and architects to develop customized training plans
- Work with operational managers and program leadership to identify training gaps, trending, and retraining needs
- Document training status and conduct required rechecks for datacenter staff
- Analyze training status and progression to identify improvements
- Support special projects for Tier 2 Service Desk operations with TAC Lead and Government leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma and 11+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively as a team member in efforts focused on upskilling new and existing staff
- Ability to rapidly assimilate new requirements, identify integration points within TAC processes, and communicate essential information to diverse recipients
- Ability to demonstrate and clearly explain technical skills and processes
- Strong collaboration skills with peers, leadership, and customers
- Senior-level expertise in triaging datacenter incidents and events
- Senior experience with Active Directory account and server management and monitoring
- Experience preparing documentation and briefings for leadership
- Hands-on server administration experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and SharePoint
- Senior-level proficiency with vCenter, vSphere, VMware vRealize Operations Manager, Log Insight, and Network Insight
- Senior experience in enterprise/datacenter Service Desk operations and service management tools; Remedy/Helix preferred
- Experience monitoring backup systems, SQL Server, Oracle, SAN/NAS storage, and networking principles/equipment including Cisco and Palo Alto
- Familiarity with ITSM processes, emphasizing Incident and Event Management
- Demonstrated customer service focus
- Ability to work within a distributed virtual team across multiple locations using synchronous and asynchronous communication tools
- IAT II certification required, such as CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP
- Must attain and maintain DoD 8140 certification as required
- ITIL training or certification
- Experience with Azure or AWS cloud environments
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Active Secret security clearance required
- AWS or Azure fundamentals certification preferred
