About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support multiple behavioral research projects for the U.S. Army Research Institute and other government agencies
  • Manage and lead a multidisciplinary team conducting 8–10 research projects annually
  • Serve as Primary Investigator on multiple projects
  • Directly supervise approximately 6 employees, including professional development, performance reviews, timecards, certifications, and administrative tasks
  • Build and maintain rapport with Contractor Officer Representatives, subcontractors, and functional support staff
  • Interface with customers and sponsors, including coordination and briefings to Army leaders
  • Lead business development through proposals and white papers
  • Conduct quality control and assurance of research products and deliverables
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports
  • Support development of data collection instruments, field data collection, interviews, data entry, data quality assurance, analytical approaches, and data collation
  • Support development of research results through briefings and technical reports

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; 6 years with a PhD
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Army behavioral research projects
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret security clearance
  • PhD in a Behavioral Science field such as Psychology or Sociology (preferred)
  • Former Army field grade officer with relevant advanced degree (preferred)
  • Experience with data analysis and data visualization tools/platforms: R, Python, Power BI, Army Vantage, or former Army ORSA (preferred)
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance (preferred)
  • Must be local to Columbus, GA and able to go on-site regularly and as needed
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Proactive, well-organized, and adept at building and maintaining systems and processes
  • High degree of professionalism, presence, flexibility, judgment, and discretion
