Key responsibilities & impact

Provide Linux and cyber tools administration and Tier 2 support across a range of systems spread globally.
Maintain Ansible playbooks for rapid deployment of updated containers.
Maintain and leverage Satellite server for distributed RHEL patching.
Develop and maintain process documentation regarding Linux administration and patching.
Assist in updating of IDS definitions.
Support Peraton’s Department of State Diplomatic Security Cyber Mission program by protecting global cyber infrastructure and identifying and responding to cyber risks and threats.

Requirements

What you’ll need

A Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience; 3 years with Masters. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of the bachelor's degree requirement.
Must either possess and maintain, or obtain prior to start date, one of the following professional certifications: CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP, CISSP, Security+ CE, CySA+, PPDA, Agile IC, SNOW App Dev.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7, 8, and 9 — hands-on administration, patching, and deployment from scratch; working experience with RHEL 9 environments specifically required
Ansible — ability to both run and write/modify playbooks for automated deployment and configuration
Red Hat Satellite — experience managing distributed RHEL patching at scale
Bash scripting — must be able to author basic-to-intermediate scripts, not just execute them
DISA STIGs / system hardening — practical experience applying security configurations
SCAP tools — familiarity with scanning and compliance validation
IDS/security tooling — basic experience with definition updates or signature management
Process documentation — ability to write and maintain clear technical procedures
U.S. citizenship and an active Secret security clearance to start.
Basic networking knowledge — OSI model, firewalls, switches/routers
VMware or equivalent virtualization — creating and managing VMs
Basic hardware troubleshooting experience
