About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and co-author Open Science training materials, guidelines, and implementation resources
- Propose enhancements to knowledge management systems and tools that strengthen Open Science practices
- Develop and recommend Open Science workflows supporting research transparency, reproducibility, and compliance
- Work directly with CDC researchers to integrate Open Science principles into research workflows
- Liaise with CDC Centers, Institutes, and Offices to provide Open Science outreach, instruction, and research support
- Provide reference and research support to researchers seeking guidance on Open Science implementation
- Collaborate with CDC scientific leadership and CIO staff to implement Open Science practices
- Participate, as appropriate, in CDC and federal Open Science committees and working groups
- Adapt activities and deliverables as CDC Open Science policies, practices, and implementation priorities evolve
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; minimum of 3 years with PhD
- Extensive knowledge of Open Science policies, guidelines, and practices, including U.S. Public Access policies, the Gold Standard Science memorandum, and Open Data policy and law
- Experience with Open Science tools such as DMPTool, Open Science Framework (OSF), GitHub, repository platforms, and data documentation tools
- Excellent communication, training, and documentation skills
- Expert knowledge of the Persistent Identifier (PID) landscape
- Experience using one or more PID assignment interfaces
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, multidisciplinary environment
- Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance
